Mickey Mouse with a Lightsaber

Disney recently bought Lucasfilm, so I figured I should draw something!

For some reason I love seeing animal heads on human bodies in that weirdly realistic/artsy way (no, not furries or whatever they're called). Anyways this was just a messy painting I played around with for an hour or two. Since I'm a fan of this concept, I think I may do more like it when I have the time.

Zoey

Just some painting practice! I used Zoey Deschanel as a reference. It's a bit wonky, but I had a lot of fun just trying things out and learning a little bit more about faces! This took between 3-4 hours to do.

The Furious Five

A work in progress of a request for 'The Dragon Warrior' and 'The Furious Five'. For this one I've decided to save out bits of my progress just to see a bit of how I went along doing it and maybe ways of improving my work flow.

My first official commission! It was a lot of fun to do this and he gave me tons of space with few actual requirements. He was very happy with the result and I'm happy that he was pleased :)

Well, this was a fun experiment. In the end I loved my background painting even more than Mewtwo, but even so, I think it turned out pretty well!

Coraline

Today I bring you, Coraline! I saw the movie again recently and some of the scenes were just so fantastic to watch. It's just an amazing film.

This was one of the scenes I especially loved, when she's walking through the orchard in the middle of the night and she's singing the rhyme from her father. Just added that extra eeriness! 

Oh my twitchy, witchy girl.

Yoda

I started off today not knowing what I wanted to paint. I had a list, but nothing on there appealed to me at the time. Then I thought of it. Star Wars!! But who from Star Wars? Well, only the coolest of them all, Yoda.

It's a bit rougher than my last few, but I'm still pretty happy with it overall. Might have gone a bit overboard on the background blur though :P

Adventure Time

Okay, so I lost my painting streak for one day, but it's only because there was such a ridiculous amount of detail in Finn and Jake's treehouse! I had no idea until I actually started to paint it. Anyways, this is the 4th painting I've finished recently. Going to keep pushing myself!

Kung Fu Panda

Third painting of the week, this time it's Po about to kick ass with the Wuxi Finger Hold! Skadoosh. This one took a lot more time to finish, but boy did I have fun! I think it turned out pretty damn good too.

Well a whiiile back I sketched a picture of 'Toothless' from 'How to Train Your Dragon' and until today I had never painted it, but I finally did and this was the result!

Personally, I prefer the line work more than the finished version. It just feels so much cleaner!
